Developed as part of the IDD program by a cross-disciplinary team of UX and Graphic Design students, this app addresses a pressing issue in Canada, where there are only 18 washrooms available per 100,000 residents. Our team conducted a survey in Calgary that revealed 80% of respondents expressed discomfort due to poor washroom cleanliness. Since building or renovating washrooms is not a feasible short-term solution, Peek-a-Poop offers a real-time location tracking system, user-generated ratings, filters for amenities, and alerts for washroom availability. This scalable, user-centered design prioritizes inclusivity and aims to create a broader social impact by improving public restroom accessibility. Find the MVP prototype below to see our design! Enjoy!

Root Access is a simulated hair salon website developed as part of a school project. It replicates the core functionalities of a real-world salon website, including a booking management system and a database to store user information, available services, scheduled appointments, and staff breaks. The platform supports user registration and login, allowing clients to manage their bookings through a personalized dashboard. Additionally, stylists can manage their appointments and schedule breaks via a dedicated dashboard interface. When scheduling new appointments or breaks, the site queries the database for existing bookings and displays only the available time slots. It also provides alerts if any scheduling conflicts are detected.
